In the near future, due to the availability of data lines for power supply and with the networking of more and more devices, DC power supply for offices and homes will gradually become a reality.




For example, office sockets will become only Ethernet and USB interfaces, and it is expected that an office building that can provide power and transmit data after connection is expected to be realized. At home, "black home appliances" such as TVs, CD-ROM devices and game machines can also work with USB sockets.



Many USB connectors are set up side by side in restaurants, which customers can use to charge their portable terminals. ——In the near future, it will become a common situation in the world.



Previously, Ethernet and USB were also available for power supply. Ethernet adopts the "power over Ethernet (POE)" standard. It can send and receive data and power with a single cable. Some applications of office buildings such as IP phone, monitoring camera lens and wireless LAN access point have been applied.



USB is centered around personal computers such as keyboard, mouse and external hard disk. It is not only used for data transmission, but also for power supply. Moreover, since the formulation of "USB battery charging (USB BC)" in April 2007, many mobile phones, smart phones and tablet terminals have used USB as charging adapter.



It can supply 100W power



The trend of using Ethernet and USB in power supply will be further strengthened with the gradual enlargement of their specifications and the scope of application will be expanded. At present, it is developing towards powerful Ethernet in office and USB in home. If a port on the power supply side can output about 100W of power, Poe can provide power to drive LED lighting, notebook computers and small business machines in the office. USB can also drive notebook computers, 20-30 inch medium-sized monitors, Blu ray disc recorders, desk type amusement devices and large fans, etc., which will be used rapidly in the family.



Since Poe and USB can send and receive data, it will be easier to build power management systems such as hems (home energy management system) and BEMS (building energy management system) if these products are connected to the Internet. Before that, the DC power supply system has done the development of special connectors and cables and put forward the scheme, but it has not been popularized because there is no main user object.
